Fenella Humphreys, winner of BBC Music Magazine Awards in 2025, 2023 and 2018, has attracted critical admiration and audience acclaim with the grace and intensity of her remarkable performances.
Fenella performs widely as a soloist. Her recent album of Sibelius’ solo works with BBC National Orchestra of Wales has been featured in BBC Radio 3’s Building a Library and Gramophone Magazine’s Guide to the Concerto. BBC Music Magazine wrote of the recording: “Fenella Humphreys’s playing is a genuine revelation in the way it brings out the music’s dark and introspective qualities, with no shortage of technical panache.”
Violist Gary Pomeroy studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the Reina Sofia in Madrid. He enjoys a range of education work, mostly at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and is a founder member of the Heath Quartet who have recorded several albums, performed recitals worldwide and toured with opera and theatre companies.
Cara Berridge is a passionate chamber musician, founder member of the Sacconi Quartet, cellist in London Bridge Piano Trio and Ensemble Perpetuo. Sacconi Quartet have won prizes at many International competitions and have performed extensively throughout the UK and Europe.
Hailed as ‘a major new talent’ by International Piano and a ‘pianist of splendid individuality’ by The Arts Desk, British pianist Sam Armstrong brings deeply-felt interpretive power to the solo, chamber music and vocal repertoire. Passionate about music education, Sam is currently Senior Tutor in Keyboard Chamber Music and Professor of Piano at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
