Next week we welcome Trio Anima (harp, viola and flute) – a very different sound world to the Mikeleiz-Zucchi Duo. They will be with us from 9-10 May in Bridport, Ilminster and Crewkerne.
The Mikeleiz-Zucchi Duo received a cautious welcome but won over their audiences with comments including: extraordinary – amazing – different and stunning. It was the first time we had heard an accordion in our concert series and it was fascinating to watch and hear it played by Iñigo in collaboration with the virtuosic playing of David Zucchi on the saxophone.
We have had to make changes to our June tour as Erdem Mısırlıoğlu has sustained an injury that requires time to heal. We hope that he will return with Mathis Rochat in a future season.
Duo Fabulae – Lorena Cantó and Yvain Calvo will be coming instead from 27-28 June. You can see their programme on the booking pages. We are delighted that they can come at such short notice.
Booking for tours will start 2 months before the tour begins.
Clicking on BOOK TICKETS above will take you to all the concerts in 2025. You can also can see a list of who is coming this season by clicking on – 2025
The concert Programme for the whole season will be on sale at each venue. It contains notes written for these concerts by Anthony Friend, Mary-Jannet Leith and Victoria Couper. It also includes biographies of the performers. It costs £8 and can be paid for by card or cash.

2019, 2020, 2020 Online, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Seasons – you can see the list of performers for each year under our News section.
Archived concerts from 2006 when the concert series began – if you go to Concerts by date, scroll down to Previous concerts, this will take you back to earlier seasons.
Under Concerts by venue you will find venues where we have held concerts in the past as well as those we go to currently. In 2025 we will be visiting Bridport (all tours), Ilminster (all tours), and Crewkerne (all tours).
Concerts in the West was launched in 2006. We aim to bring talented young professional musicians to small, intimate venues in the West Country, in areas that may not have easy access to music of this quality. Short intensive tours, lasting a few days, are arranged mainly in Dorset and Somerset.
We feel privileged to hear music performed to such a high standard. The repertoire is enormously varied and gives local audiences a wonderful opportunity to hear both familiar and unusual works for voice and instrument in many combinations.
