 Eclectica!

This group is unique in its instrumentation, inspired in its broadness of repertoire and flamboyant in the musical cornucopia it purveys.

Without a doubt, Eclectica! have redefined the string quartet: replacing the 2nd violin and the viola with two guitars, this outfit has the groove and drive of the 'Meier & Oxley' guitar duo, coupled with the soaring lyricism derived from two of the world's finest string players. Giving credence to the group's name, Eclectica! might typically perform in one concert tangos from Argentina, sambas from Brazil, standards from North America and works by Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder and Rimsky-Korsakov!

In the short time since its formation in 2007, Eclectica! have sold out at amongst others, Ronnie Scotts, Dartington Arts, Oxford Jazz Festival, Holywell Music Room, Buxton Opera Festival and have performed live on BBC Radio 3 (In Tune) and BBC Radio Oxford.

Fenella Humphreys has, in the past year alone, given concerto and recital performances at prestigious venues including London's South Bank Centre. She was a 2006 Park Lane Group Young Artist, received Making Music's 2005 Philip and Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists, and gave a recital at the Wigmore Hall, finalist in the YCAT competition.

Annabelle Lawson is increasingly in demand as a soloist, chamber musician, accompanist and workshop leader. Earlier this summer Annabelle was awarded a place as solo pianist on the Live Music Now! scheme, and she has recently given solo and chamber recitals in venues such as the Purcell Room and St. James' Piccadilly.

Rebecca Knight has given recitals in the LSO Discovery Series, the IMAI Festival Maine, USA, the Paxos International Festival, Oxford Lieder Festival, and has attended masterclasses at Prussia Cove. Always keen to approach new music, she has given the European première of chamber works by Chen Yi in the BBC Proms, and appeared at the Wigmore Hall with the Guildhall New Music Ensemble.
